Passing Knowledge to Future Generations

Ensuring the transmission of knowledge and values to future generations

Transmission has always been at the heart of our identity and development strategy. The transfer of skills, values, and goals is seamlessly integrated into our operations, as a fundamental principle. This philosophy forms the foundation of NST ACADEMY.

The ecological crisis teaches us that the world cannot be envisioned without considering future generations. Nothing makes sense if we do not adopt a mindset of passing things forward. We have learned from those who came before us, and we must “pass on” something meaningful to younger generations. This is the cornerstone of our academy, which aims to support young talents over time, train them, and guide them in meaningful projects—ideally long-term ones—to help them reach the highest level.

Our Young Talents and Their Mentors

Awen LE HUEC

SKIPPER

20 years old

Arrived in 2023 for a 3-Year Apprenticeship. Member of the Academy.

Raphaël LUTARD

PROJECT LEAD

29 years old

7 Years of Experience. Preparator, then skipper, and finally boat captain. Also serves as a technical advisor.

Awen & Raphaël

Raphaël knows the boat inside out, having been a preparator and then skipper of the Mini 6.50 for three years. He is also a sailing instructor, which enables him to pass on information to Awen in an educational way. Their main objective is the Mini Transat 2025. Awen will need to be ready by then: qualified, autonomous and involved in all aspects of preparation (food, medication, sailing in all types of weather, monitoring budgets, minor repairs, technical knowledge of the boat). A great program, but also a great adventure, awaits them.

Lénaïg & Quentin

Quentin and Neo Sailing Technologies have combined efforts to provide the resources necessary to support Lénaïg's development as an athlete. The goal is to help her reach the highest level of performance and fully express her potential in competitive sailing. Quentin guides her progress, evaluates her sporting abilities, and supports her professional journey by: Setting clear objectives, identifying challenges, prioritizing daily tasks, encouraging methodical organization, promoting a healthy lifestyle (adequate recovery periods, optimized nutrition, etc.) This comprehensive approach ensures Lénaïg is well-prepared for success, both on and off the water.

Lénaïg ALFARO

SKIPPER

18 years old

Lénaïg has just joined the Academy and will participate in the Tour Voile with Quentin. She already has notable achievements in sailing circuits and notably attempted to break the record for the crossing between Bayonne and Bilbao on an Open Bic boat.

Quentin VLAMYNCK

12 Years of Experience. Preparator turned skipper, with the construction of 3 boats to his credit.

Moïse LAVOILE

Moïse completed a short composite training course on the island of Saint-Martin in the West Indies, where he is originally from. In June 2022, he chose to come here to Metropolitan France to work for NST, to give himself the opportunity to continue learning, training and having a career in shipbuilding.

Eric POMETAN

PROJECT LEAD

53 years old

1 year with Neo Sailing Technologies. He is the project manager for the trimaran's construction. He has a solid knowledge of composite materials and construction. He comes to us from F1.

Moses & Eric

Éric, as composite referent and project manager on the trimaran construction project, is keen to pass on his know-how to the youngsters. Moïse, who is very versatile on the site (handling, carpentry, composites, etc.), works in tandem with Éric during the trimaran's construction. Moïse has been here for 2 years, but the aim is to gain a better understanding of plans, manufacturing processes, firing techniques, fibers, materials and assembly methods. A great period of learning and sharing around a common goal.
